I’d seen Katie Hall as Cosette in the 2010 production, so it was lovely to see her back on the tour as Fantine. A scene that sometimes can be a bit flat when compared to others in the show is now choreographed with some very clever movement by some of the lead ensemble members and really adds a lot to the pain of Marius’ loss. With it, a new director, Laurence Connor has come in to give a new lease of life to the Trevor Nun original direction and will hopefully attract a new generation of musical fans and keep the revolution alive. It. She’s clearly matured as an actress and you really felt for her character more than normal because of the desperation she continued to show. However i was extremely excited to see this current touring production as it is in fact, the Les Misérables of the future.
You’re soon put at ease by the familiar first note of the orchestra. The set is the main change in this new production and obviously where your ticket money is going. Jobs; Contact; Home.
